The Four Elements (~1600)
EARTH: terra-  a female personification seated on the ground holding a cornucopia; on the ground are various vegetables, a mouse, grasshopper, lizard etc and beyond is a lush forest; with an ornamental surround with a sheep, cow, stag and lion at the corners, flanked by fruiting branches; above centre a churn.
AIR: aer- a male personification holding a chameleon amongst the clouds with four winds (blowing cherubs), birds and bats; with an ornamental surround consisting of different birds, a peacock, turkey, owl etc.
FIRE: ignis- a male personification, seated, seen from behind, holding lightning bolts and flames with smoking volcanoes beyond; an ornamental surround with a cooking spit above, an oven, weaponry, anchor and cannon etc
Water: aqua- a female personification reclining with spurting breasts and holding a shell gushing water; in the water are a variety of fish; with an ornamental surround comsisting of different fish, crabs, starfish etc and four aquatic birds on the corners
